Internet Download Manager

Internet Download Manager (IDM) is a download manager allowing, among other things, and increase your download speed thanks to the segmentation of your downloads.

This paid download manager (30 days of free trial) can be downloaded from the publisher's website: http://www.internetdownloadmanager.com

When you download a link via your browser, by default, this download is managed by the download manager included directly in your browser. This tool is very basic, and does not offer any options. Use an external manager will replace that of your browser, and allow you to manage your downloads as you see fit.

There are several advantages associated with the use of download managers: download planning, the ability to pause / restart a download, limit the bandwidth used, etc.

We will present here only one peculiarity: the segmentation of your download.

This option has the big advantage, in most cases, to maximize your bandwidth, forcing multiple "connections" between the file being downloaded and the download server. You can configure the number of simultaneous connections you want to establish in order to maximize your download, and try to increase the rate as much as possible in your Internet line.

We recommend 8 file connections, and 2 simultaneous downloads.
